This dobsonian telescope was easy to assemble - with the OTA and mirror already assembled, all I had to do was to put the plywood base together and fit the OTA to it. It is also quite light and easy to carry, the azimuth movement smooth, which can be ideal for kids who are seriously into astronomy, or for those who would like to observe at a darker location. The primary mirror is of great quality, and views of Saturn were pretty crisp. I haven't viewed all of the Messier objects through it, I managed to see M13 partially resolved around the outer edges - the Ring Nebula is visible, more so with averted vision. A great scope for a beginner!
