I use them on my HEQ5 PRO for imaging and they noticibly reduce the peaks that occur on the PHD guiding graph when someone walks around the mount or when one of my cats decides to pull on a wire or frolics around the tripod legs.
When I'm not imaging, I find they are also pretty useful for dropping my camera tripod onto them - they're handy for daytime photography and for binocular use too.
And for observers using a telescope, I found that focusing on Saturn was made much easier while using these pads. When you touch the focuser the planet moves but when you let go it stops unlike before where the planet would be bouncing around a second before stopping.
