The new Starlight Xpress LF Active Optics significantly improves the tracking performance obtainable with mountings that suffer from less than optimum periodic error.
It will also allow users to obtain the smallest possible FWHM when used with longer focal length instruments even when placed on high quality mountings.
This new premium-quality USB filter from Starlight Xpress is unique in that it does not require a separate power supply when used with USB control - the high performance DC gear-motor runs entirely from the USB supply and consumes less than 100mA.
It is also capable of operation from a serial input or from a switched hand controller, both of which power the wheel from a small dry battery.
The SXV Guide Camera can be connected directly to one of two serial ports at the rear of SXVF series cameras. Alternatively, this serial port divider box can be connected in-line to provide two serial outputs on standard 9-pin D plugs.
The SXV Guide Camera is supplied with a 1-metre cable. This is perfectly adequate for most setups but Starlight Xpress also offer this 1.5m replacemant.
In stagnant air, the body temperature of Starlight Xpress 'R' series cameras can rise well above ambient and degrade the chip cooling. This very compact add-on will keep the air moving and enable you to achieve the best possible delta T on the chip. It is fitted in place of the standard tripod bracket and powered by a 'Y' lead from the DC input cable. The magnetically levitated fan is quiet and vibration free.
The standard 3m cable is sufficient for most telescope/mount setups where the power supply sits conveniently under the mount. For unusually large setups where a little extra length would be convenient Starlight Xpress offer a replacement 5m cable.
