I completely agree with Julian's review, in fact this scope has made me fall in love with astronomy all over again.
The optics and construction are top notch for the money and it just looks so good.
If observing the moon and the planets is your thing then I would certainly recommend a TAL100RS for your viewing pleasure.

tal 100RS - Julian
I bought my 100rs about 6 months ago, so i have had a little time to evaluate it! It arrived perfectly packaged, with all contents as listed, out of the box first thing i noticed was how much lighter than my 120mm evostar, due to the aluminium ota tube, checking it over i was very pleased with the build quality. Initially i had a slight problem fitting a syntra dove tail but did not take long to work out how to do this, onto the EQ5 mount and soon balanced, it is very stable on this mount (recommended) The crayford style focuser is a dream to use compared to similar priced refractors, being 2" with a 1.25 reducer, would be nice if it was dual speed though, but with roller bearings it is silky. I use this mainly for lunar observing and imaging, and to date my best lunar image has been captured with this scope, i have viewed the orion nebula and it resolved the trapizium beautifully, also showing some colour in the nebula. Saturn is just fantastic with this tal, very clear, good colour and 3 moons visible. The optics are pin sharp, very well figured with very little false colour. Tal supply 2 plossl`s, a superb 25mm plus a 6.3mm, it would be nice to have a 10 or 12mm supplied, but most people that buy this ota would obtain more eye piece`s to go with it, being 1000mm focal length its not fussy with eyepiece`s, most plossl`s should perform well. In conclusion this Tal 100rs is very well constructed with optics that continue to impress me, other tal owners refer to them as "keepers" and this is very true, a highly recommended optical instrument
