The pier from my Tal has been borrowed by a 10 stone scope (really, I've weighed it) and is coping without any problem. The rest of the scope is built to a similar standard, good optics, good focusser, a pleasure to use.
Despite being my smallest scope out of three, I can't bear to part with it which is probably all anyone needs to know, Tal scopes are well worth having, and will certainly last a lifetime.
