The Vixen SXW or 'Sphinx' mount and Star Book hand controller work beautifully together. The mount has the usual solid high-class fit and finish typical of Vixen products and through clever design is surprisingly portable.

Vixen SXW Features

• 180-tooth worm gear for fine full circle motion.
  
• Clever motor placemant reduces the need for heavy counterweights.
  
• The counterweight shaft is stored inside the mount for convenience.
  
• Will accept an optional highly accurate illuminated polar axis scope.
  
• Recommended load capacity is 22 lbs/10 kg.
  
• SPHINX mount head (without counterweight) weighs only 15 lbs/6.8 kg.
  
• A Half Pillar accessory option adds extra height if required.
  

The innovative Star Book hand controller offers astronomical navigation with a large full-color LCD screen that displays a detailed star chart that acts as a navigational aid and GOTO guide for the mount.

Star Book Controller Features

• High Speed Internal CPU ( 32 bit RISC processor, 75MHz, 8MB SDRAM, 4MB Flash ROM upgradeable)
• Zoom-in/out buttons and direction buttons allow easy navigation of the star chart and fine motor speed control (as you zoom in to an object the motor speed automatically slows for precise control and centring).
• Easy to use intuitive menu options are displayed on-screen and are easily navigated using buttons on the controller.
• Controller's database includes 22,725 celestial objects!
• Includes a LAN Port for computer control and network connectivity.
• Flash upgrades are downloadable from Vixen's website.
• Auto-guider port is standard on all controllers.
• Star Book controller can be used as a stand-alone star atlas, seperate from the mount.
