A highly quality accurate mount needs a similarly high quality tripod to reach its full potential.

The 10Micron Centaurus II aluminium tripod was designed for use with their GM2000 HPS Mount but can also be used with the GM1000 (with optional #1451091 GM1000-to-Centaurus II adaptor flange) to enhance stability. 

Thanks to the mount’s Absolute Encoders, it is possible to measure any change in the length of a tripod leg (e.g if a tripod leg sinks into the ground during tracking). A movement of only one-tenth of a millimetre can cause an offset of 10 arcseconds during tracking! This is why 10Micron design and manufacture their own tripods. 

The Centaurus II tripod features a folding dual tube upper leg design for maximum rigidity. The tripod legs are made of a particularly hard aluminium alloy and are fitted with large ergonomic locking knobs. The tripod feet are self levelling which makes positioning the tripod easy when on an uneven surface.

A Cordura centre-triangle 'shelf' fits between the legs to provide accessory storage (i.e. eyepieces, power supply etc).
