Would not purchase for filter use 11 January 2022 | David
I purchased this to allow use of a filter with the Skywatcher ED80 .85 reducer, but would not do so again. While it does allow this, I now realize that a better way to go is to purchase a Filter Drawer, such as the one from ZWO, which allows easy filter change during an imaging session and also allows the reducer to be screwed onto the focuser tube, reducing the likelihood of flexure from fixing the corrector in place with focusser screws. Nicely made, but sing with me: "Why was it made so beautiful, why was it made it all . . . ."

This attachment is useful a) if you want to swap out between visual and imaging b) you have bought a replacement focuser that does not have a M48 thread for the Skywatcher focuser/reducer.
Recommended.
Brilliant but consider changing the thumb screws on a SkyWatcher focuser 06 March 2021 | Andy
I bought this adapter for just for when I wanted to use a 2” filter with my DSLR on my SW 100 ED Pro telescope. However it works so well I use it with and without a filter. One tip: If you find, due to the weight of your DSLR and focal reducer, your DSLR wobbles up and down, the problem is not this adapter but the small-headed thumb screws on the SW focuser. Replace these with larger ones and the problem goes away: Use M4 thumb screws 20mm long (so there is sufficient clearance to clear the diagonal when observing visually) and with 16mm plastic knurled heads.

Brilliant bit of kit, had just upgraded a focuser & needed this to connect a focal reducer. FLO kindly let me know when stock arrived, I received in 24hrs of ordering - great service.

If you're looking at this adaptor, you know what it does. But let me just say here that if you're shooting with a DSLR you need this. The adaptor will allow the critical camera rotation limited by your reducer alone. It will also allow for 2" filter attachment - which the reducer prohibits. It's well crafted and I've been delighted with the service and fast shipping that FLO provides. Many thanks to all of you providing first class service during these challenging times.

very fast service and excellent product quality
Solved a different problem 09 May 2020 | John
I had previously ordered an M56x1 ClickLock visual back in the hope that it would fit onto the focuser threads of my Stellarvue AT1010. It didn't fit (they may be M57, still not sure) and that left me with an M56 ClickLock that I was unable to use.
I ordered one of these adapters and used it to let me insert the ClickLock into the 2" visual back on the AT1010. It's not a perfect solution (that 2" visual back was what I was trying to replace) but now I only have to crank the visual back screws down on this adapter and I can use the superior ClickLock from that point on. The adapter seems to be well made and well machined - just what I needed.
Astro Essentials Adapter for Sky-Watcher Focal Reducers 26 February 2020 | John
Exactly what I needed to allow the fitting of a 2 inch filter in the optical train of my ED100 DS Pro!
No more dismantling the filter to fit it to the focal reducer.
Perfect!

This is a brilliant solution to an expensive alternative , the only solution I could find was a filter unit and drawer at around £120, but as I only use colour cameras I don't need to change filters, this adapter holds a 2" filter which I use all night anyway so it's perfect for me, well done FLO for coming up with this.
