About this product

Model:  sw9x50finder-straight
Part Number:  20530

The Skywatcher achromatic 9x50 finderscope has a large 50mm objective, wide 45° field of view and a cross-hair reticule for easy navigation.

The 50mm aperture is genuine, it is not stopped down like some cheaper finderscopes.

2.78x more light gathering ability than the smaller 6x30 model!

Easy to setup and easy to use. The mounting bracket fits into standard finder shoes from Vixen, Skywatcher, Celestron, GSO, etc. Additional finder shoes are available separately.

To attach this to a Celestron SCT you will need a Baader Quick Release Finder Base.

To focus the finderscope simply unscrew the lock-ring, rotate the objective, then re-close the lock-ring.

Features:
  • 9x50 finder with achromatic lens and cross-hair reticule
  • Finder bracket with two thumbscrews and counter spring for easy operation
  • Aperture: 50mm (2.78x more light gathering ability than the 6x30!)
  • Magnification: 9x
  • Apparent field of view: 45°
  • True field of view: 5.6°
  • Backfocus 18mm behind the metal tube

Includes:

  • 9x50 Finderscope with achromatic lens.
  • Quick-release finder bracket compatible with various finder bases.

Note: This remarkably low price is made possible because we have separated a Sky-Watcher Evostar 80ED PRO outfit into it's individual components. It is a new product with full UK warranty but does not include original box/packaging.

finder scope

Already have two of these finders on other telescopes, have found this to be the best finder set up available at a reasonable price. The optical quality is very good, the bracket I think is superb and simple

Perfect

This is my second one, the first was the one with the 45 angle piece. This one is for my guide camera using the appropriate adapter and like the first one, the optics are crisp & clean giving sharp stars. I run both on my refractor so I can still have a visual aid for centralising targets. A like the way you can make a precise alignment with the not so obtrusive screws. Very well made, very happy and as always, an excellent service from Flo, thank you.

Great finderscope
20 August 2020  |

I upgraded to this finderscope from my 6x30 one on my skywatcher explorer 150p and gives me a much wider field of view making star hopping so easy, a weighty solid piece of kit, typical of the skywatcher brand.

Replacement finder
14 March 2020  |

I purchased this finder to use as a guide scope for use with a ASI120MM-S camera. Like others have mentioned the camera cannot be brought to focus for far away objects without the removal of the tightening ring. Once taken off you have 12 mm of additional back space which allows focus. SkyWatcher don't state the focal length of the item but my measurements were 181 mm if that helps anyone else in the future.

Good Basic Finder Scope for the price

Big enough to give decent viewing. Good for use with basic astronomy camera. This requires adaptor. Weighty piece of kit though.
