Great for a quick scan of the sky. Really good views for such a light object.

Something unprecedented happened on the day these binoculars were delivered. On a night all the weather forecasters had predicted as terrible for stargazing, the clouds cleared so immediately after taking these out of the box I got straight on it!
I bought these to replace a 10x50 set I had inherited which must be almost 30 years old. I have had enough of seeing double stars and took the plunge to buy these. I did lots of research on the internet and these seem to consistently come out on top as a middle weight standard set of binoculars.
I was not disappointed. The half-moon looked fantastic, being able to see craters and seas. The stars looked good, it was great to see them as pinpoint dots on a black background (it seems my old set had become very foggy as well as misaligned). Orionís sword was very clear, you could just about make out the nebula with averted vision but wouldnít expect much more in light polluted, moon lit sky through binoculars. Moving over to Andromeda, this was surprising good, at the best of times this is a smudge but it was very obviously there, hanging eerily in the sky.
The field of view is larger than my old pair which is good, I think for the purposes I want them for I donít need too much magnification, it makes things unsteady. Itís very light which, again, is perfect for my needs and not shaky.
I also bought an adapter so it could fit to a cheap tripod, I fitted this together using the screw hole in the binoculars and looked at a very steady moon.
Altogether I am very happy and recommend these to people who like nipping out on clear nights and having a quick gander around sky.
