The new high-end Helios LightQuest-HR observation binoculars combine top features in mechanical and optical design, with outstanding performance to match!
They are fully waterproof (IPX7 standard, 0.5m depth for 30 minutes) and nitrogen filled for clear fog-free operation, with individual eyepiece (IF) focusing and designed for medium-to-long-range terrestrial and astronomical observations.
The body material is constructed from magnesium alloy making the binocular extremely lightweight for an instrument of this size, whilst maintaining a very robust structure. The body is covered in stylish protective rubber armouring.
Features high-index BaK-4 prisms and a fully broadband multi-coated optical system and shockproof caged prisms. The high-resolution optical system features high-transmission lens and prism coatings allowing a massive light throughput equal to or exceeding 90%. The lens coatings have an extremely low level of reflectivity, ensuring the maximum amount of precious light is provided at the eyepiece. Images delivered are vibrant, very flat edge-to-edge and virtually distortion free.
The advanced, innovative eyepiece design (8 elements in 5 groups) features oversized eye lens elements for comfortable viewing and provides a highly corrected image. Fold-down rubber eyecups are provided for spectacle-wearers.
Supplied with captive objective lens caps, eyepiece rainguard, neoprene neck strap and heavy-duty tripod adaptor (attached to binocular in photo), in padded durable fabric carrying case.

I have had the Helios LightQuest HR 16x80 binoculars for a few weeks now, and they continue to impress me. Build quality is great, while the weight is little more than the older (and also very good) Apollo 15x70s. The tethered lens caps are a clear improvement over the Apollo 15x70s too. Image quality is great, with stars remaining sharp over most of the field. Only at the very edge does some astigmatism show. No field curvature is noticeable. Eye relief for the 16x80 is generous, and I have no difficulties seeing the entire field of view with my glasses on. The three Messier cluster in Auriga show far more detail than in the Apollo 15x70s. On the moon, some chromatic aberation is visible, but it is not intrusive to me, and it is to be expected without apochromatic objectives.
The binoculars handle well, and I can readily use them without mount for short sessions, although the image is clearly more steady on a monopod or my p-mount.
In conclusion: great binoculars, real keepers
