NEW Model!

“If there is a better 10x50 for under £125, I’ve not seen it.  Everything works as it should, the image in the sweet spot is extremely good, it has decent coatings, it is lightweight and comfortable to use, the strap is good quality and comfortable, unusually for a budget binocular it is not significantly stopped down, and it will suit a wide range of faces."  Steve Tonkin's review for the BinocularSky website

The NEW Opticron Adventurer 10x50 T WP is arguably the BEST binocular for stargazing below £100.  And it is waterproof!

Features include fully multi-coated lenses (all air-glass surfaces) BAK-4 prisms, a wide easy to use focus wheel and fully waterproof rubber-armoured construction.

The traditional porro-prism design provides a pleasing 3D viewing experience, compared to more compact roof prism binoculars, and a full field of view for spectacle wearers.

Includes 2 year guarantee.

Optics are value for money, build quality is not fit for purpose
30 November 2023  |

Owned a pair of these for one month and one side of the binoculars snapped off completely when adjusting the distance of the eyepieces. Horrendous build quality, worse than toy binoculars, hoping I can get a refund as not fit for purpose.

Response:

We are sorry to hear of this situation. It is very rare, but it can happen.
We disagree with your assessment of the Opticron T WP but have arranged a full refund. You don't need to return the binoculars :-)

First Pair of Binoculars
24 February 2023  |

After some research and based upon Steve Tonkins review, I was bought a pair of the 10x50 T WP Binocular for my birthday. I’ve never owned a pair before, but wanted to have something portable to grab and go, just to get out in the fresh air and look at the night sky.

Used them for the first time tonight and was really surprised by how good they are and what I could clearly see.

The binoculars are light weight and so good to just grab and go.

Really impressed with these and the great service as usual from FLO.

Incredible value for money!
29 November 2021  |

Like some other reviewers, I bought these after reading Steve Tonkin's detailed review. They are the first pair I have ever purchased and I could not be happier with them. They are comfortable to hold, easy to adjust and their image is bright and sharp. The large eye relief and small minimum IPD also make for comfortable viewing. As a beginner (who so far has used them for bird watching, viewing distant terrestrial objects and looking at the moon, the combination of 10x magnification and 50mm lenses seems ideal. Distance objects are brought out in good detail -- the shape of a ship that was lying most of the way to the horizon (from 200m above sea level) and looked like half an en dash with the naked eye could be seen clearly -- and the field of view is such that locating and tracking moving objects is a cinch. The performance of these binoculars seems to be on par with much more expensive alternatives. My only (and minor) concern is with the soft case. It's flap has a velcro fastening and it doesn't strike me as being particularly secure or long-lasting. Final point: Living in NZ I was a bit concerned about how such a product would cope with being shipped halfway around the world. While a couple of significant dents in the outer packaging gave me some anxious moments, the binoculars and the box they came in were both fine.

Love them!
01 January 2021  |

Bought these after reading Steve Tonkin's review, as well as many, many others... I spent so much time trying to decide on what I wanted and was so happy to receive these and finally get a decent view of the night sky.

The moon looks amazing through them, and I have seen Pleiades for the first time ever which was such a treat on a moonless night. I do need to get a tripod/parallelogram mount as I can't see stars clearly enough due to the shake of my hands.
Overall I'm pleased with this purchase and will hopefully get the chance to update this review when I have my mount.

Clear skies!

Great value for money in my opinion.
03 April 2020  |

Superb binocular at this price point, with fully multicoated lenses and BAK 4 prisms. Lightweight but sturdy construction. Very sharp optics at centre of field. There is some significant but symmetrical optical aberration at the periphery but not really noticeable with eyes correctly positioned, and I suspect you would have to spend a lot more money to avoid this!

Great quality optics
06 February 2019  |

These binoculars are fantastic quality, sturdy, light and very nice in the hand.
The optics are beautifully bright and pin sharp, the Pleiades and Orion nebula especially look fantastic. Andromeda's ghostly smudge is easy to locate with the 50mm objectives gathering enough light to make this task all the easier. The beehive cluster, and M13 in Hercules jump out with a surprising wow factor. I'm very pleased with these binoculars.
The reason I've deducted a star in my rating is because yet again, manufacturers cannot seem to make lens caps fit properly. The diopter caps simply fall off if you turn the binos upside down - they're not even close to fitting correctly.. They more or less just balance on the top. I feel its such a simple thing to get right on such great optics, so feel wholeheartedly that they deserve to have a star deducted for this.
