Am new to astronomy and was unsure about what eyepieces do what .Flo were very helpful in advising me and am now pretty confident on what to purchase.will definetly be purchasing any further items from them.

Improved views through my 'classic' (!) 50 years old Prinz Astral 550 refractor. Recommended, as are FLO - great service.

As always, great service from First Light Optics. Have several of these eyepieces already and the 9mm did not disappoint. These are decent eyepieces and well priced. Anyone looking to upgrade from entry level eyepieces without spending a fortune could do a lot worse than buying one or two of these.

Purchased a week ago, to add to three other Celestron X-Cel LX eyepieces, for use on my ten inch Dobsonian, and still waiting for a clear night to test. All my other Celestron eyepieces have performed well in several telescope, over a number of years, including my ten inch f/5 Dobsonian and I would be surprised if this one disappointed. With the oppositions of several planets current, I felt the need to increase the Dobsonian magnification nearer to the theoretical limit imposed by its ten inch aperture. The 4 star rating because I am still waiting for a clear steady night to test and use.

I bought the 12mm eyepiece. Superb addition to my collection. Has that quality feel to it and the views of the moon and planets through my Skywatcher 200P are great. Even in an area with ambient light, I can still make out the cloud bands of Jupiter with this eyepiece accompanied with a 2x Barlow. As a relative newcomer to astronomy, and having dealt with other online dealers, FLO are by far THE most reliable

I’ve owned the Nexstar Evolution 8 for a couple of months now and the Manchester weather hasn’t exactly been conducive to good seeing with sheet cloud for many nights, but I’ve spent the time gearing up from the kit provided with the original purchase and have bought a new visual back, a new diagonal and a couple of eyepieces that eventually failed the quality test. And then, over Christmas, I bought the 18mm version of the Celestron X-Cel LX and for the very first time tonight I put the whole ensemble together. The addition of the 18mm finally gave me the ‘Wow,’ moments I have been seeking. I love the smooth twist-up eye cup which places the eye in the perfect viewing position and the excellent view that I just haven’t had with the other ep’s I have. FLO were, of course very speedy in their delivery as they have been for all my purchases and as I am sure they will be for the next LX purchase, which will probably the 9mm when it is next in stock.

As a newbie to astronomy,I have found this eyepiece a lot better than the pieces supplied with my scoop. I can now see the moon's of Jupiter ,Saturn's rings and Venus phases.
The eye price is well made and looks the part. I will be buying eye pieces from this range.

Several weeks ago I bought the 5mm eyepiece for use with my 8inch Dobsonian. I got it mainly for lunar viewing, as, obviously giving a 240 times magnification on my scope, I expected a considerable light loss when used for fainter objects. However I must say I am very disappointed with the image quality, even when the moon is very bright. It gives a horrible dark yellow cast, as though viewing through a filter, and the sharpness isn’t great either. Also, I have great problems getting it to focus accurately.
The eyepiece is beautifully made and looks stunning, but the performance is not worth the price tag. My Skywatcher 9mm eyepiece is far superior, and although only giving me 130 times magnification, the image quality is superb.......and it’s cheaper!
