With AstroSolar™ the Sun appears in its real colour - neutral white. Other films and most glass filters produce a cool/blue or warm/orange colour Solar image, thereby cutting part of the spectrum. Especially with an orange sun, it is very hard to see faculae regions which are visible predominantly in the blue wing of the spectrum.
Due to its neutral colour balance, AstroSolar enables the use of various colour (or interference) filters which allows the observer to concentrate on certain spectral passbands for investigations of different layers within the solar 'atmosphere'.
AstroSolar™ is essentially free from pinholes, since it is coated on both sides, the chance of two pinholes overlapping each other is extremely faint. Pinholes do appear, but to 1 out of 10000 only in optical density 2.5! Baader AstroSolar™ safety film has been approved for eye safety by the National Bureau of Standards in Germany, the PTB. Unlike any other Solar Filter on the market, AstroSolar™ is CE-tested according to EG-Norm 89/686 and EN 169/92 (notified body 0196). All processes connected to this product have been thoroughly tested. Coatings are inspected constantly for consistency to ensure your eye safety!

Purchased the 104mm-114mm to fit a 103mm dew shield, found that the actual adjustments using the 3 grub screws gave a measurement of 99mm-119mm so fitted easily. Adjuster screws are nylon so a good firm grip on the dew shield without leaving any marks. Image of the sun was white, giving a great contrast to the dark sun spots. Nice addition giving me the option of solar viewing during the long, light summer days.

Still waiting for the clouds to clear since the filter arrived. The plus point is that FLO provided excellent service as usual. The product looks good, and the price was good too.

Not exactly what i was looking for but never the less they do the job for what they are intended for. Being half the price of my Previous filter from Orion i guess you get what you pay for.
Very good and secure sun filter. Saturday, 21 December 2013 | John
I got the 225mm-235mm filter which fits perfectly on my Celestron C8N. The filter feels secure on the scope which gives a much needed feeling of confidence that the filter won't fall off even in windy conditions.
Only had a quick 5 minute look at a low winter sun today before it clouded over. Great views of the sunspots and can see some graining on the surface too.
The only minor problem is finding the sun in the first place. Can't use the finderscope (no filter) and the widest angle lens I have is 20mm. Going to get a wider angle lens soon anyway so that should make things easier.
Overall a great value, well made filter that gives some fantastic views of the sun, opening up a whole new subject for the telescope.

I have the Astro Zap on my Revelation 80mm refractor and it works extremely well indeed and on the first attempt I got more than usable images using eyepiece projection with my Baader 8-24 zoom with my Canon 50D DSLR.
Have also bought a sheet of the Baader solar filter material to make a cell for my finderscope, as trying to find the sun through the telescope can be hit or miss affair.
Excellent product

As a newcomer to not just solar astronomy but astronomy in general I didnt know what i needed to view our Sun, yes i knew i needed a filter and guessed this AstroZap was the way to go.
knowing how dangerous viewing the Sun can be I looked around here on FLO's website and theres no mention of if any other equipment was required, for example the Baader Solar Continuum eyepiece filter the FLO also sell. so i went and posted on the wonderfull SGL forums and discovered tha tthis filter is all you need, I thought i'd mention it incase anyone else is wondering the same as me.
