About this product

Model:  cel_battery_adptr_18769
Part Number:  18769-CGL

As amateur astronomers we seek dark skies which are often some way from sources of AC power. The most common way to power your telescope in these situations is to use a portable 12V battery pack, like the Celestron PowerTank, or to use power from your car’s battery via the cigarette lighter.

The Celestron Car Battery Adapter enables you to connect any Celestron computerised telescope to a DC power supply or car battery. Plug the round post into the 12V input jack on the drive base of your telescope* and insert the power connector into the cigarette lighter outlet in your car or on your power supply. The cord is 25 feet long, providing plenty of reach between your telescope and the 12V power source.

The barrel connector can be used with any telescope that uses a socket with an outside diameter of 5.5mm and an inner diameter of 2.1mm and is 'tip positive' polarity.

*For use with the following telescopes:

NexStar SLT
CGEM
CGEM DX
CGE Pro
CPC
CPC Deluxe
Advanced VX

Secure power connection - at last!!

I changed my NexStar power socket for a locking-ring type to prevent unexpected and disastrous disconnections. This power lead fits the socket perfectly and won't come out unless I unscrew the locking ring. Celestron should fit this on everything they make!

Excellent Item

This is exactly the item I wanted as it has a threaded collar to keep the power cable in my telescope.

The website is simple to navigate and delivery was superfast.

Although I have checked that the cable performs as required, the weather is yet to co-operate for a live test!
