About this product

Model:  200-pds-heq5-pro
Part Number:  10220/20886

The new Sky-Watcher Explorer-200P DS has the same superb parabolic primary mirror as the Explorer-200P but features a 1.25"/2" Dual-Speed 10:1 ratio focuser for enhanced focus control and a shorter tube length with the secondary mirror positioned closer to the primary mirror for more convenient prime-focus photography.

Parabolic Primary Mirror

All Sky-Watcher f/5 (‘fast’) Newtonian Reflectors and Dobsonian models feature high-quality parabolic primary mirrors to eliminate spherical aberrations inherent in ‘fast’ focal length reflector. The mirrors are parabolized to bring all the light rays to the same focal point to give sharp, contrasty images.

Ultra-Thin Secondary Mirror Supports

All Sky-Watcher f/5 Newtonian Reflectors feature 0.5mm ultra-thin secondary mirror supports to reduce diffraction spikes and loss of contrast.

Skywatcher 200P-DS & HEQ5 Pro.

The service from FLO was excellent as usual. I placed my order at 10-6am on the Thursday morning and it arrived the next day at 10-20am. I spent the rest of the day practicing setting it up and getting used to the controls, this is my first EQ mount. I managed to get to use it for an hour on the Friday night, and spent that time learning how to polar align it and have a little look around the sky. The following Friday and Saturday nights were again clear for a couple of hours each so i got to use it again and managed to see quite a lot. I live in a Bortle 7 area so the seeing isn't great but i have seen more with this setup than with my old one. The scope was collimated OK and the mount works faultlessly. I would highly reccomend FLO to anyone.

Fantastic

Extremely happy with my purchase. Due to the wonderful (?) UK weather, I still haven't had a chance to get first light with it aside from assembling and collimation. A huge step up from a Celestron 130, and a learning curve as my first EQ mount. Solidly made, and the OTA size is bigger than I thought. Definitely not a complaint though....it's huge!

Packaged extremely well and no damage to anything in transit. Whilst collimation was needed, it certainly wasn't out by miles.

Delivery was.. surprising. Even I didn't anticipate the quickness of delivery.

All in all, perfect purchase from FLO and almost certainly a return customer gained.
