A heavy-duty tripod with 1.75" diameter stainless steel legs and a centre bolt connector with 3/8" tripod thread.
Can be used to upgrade the standard aluminium tripod supplied with Sky-Watcher's AZ5, AZ Pronto, AZ-GTi, & AZ-EQ Avant mount/telescope models, providing much greater stability. Also suitable for use with the Sky-Watcher Star Adventurer mount.
Tripod extends from 83.5cm to 115cm. Can be used with Sky-Watcher's 21.5cm extension tube (code 20313).

I bought this tripod to take a SkyWatcher AZ5 hand driven altazimuth mount, extension tube and 60 mm refractor. Previously I had been using the much lighter tripod that comes with a SkyWatcher Star Adventurer which was somewhat shaky when driving the altazimuth mount and focussing the refractor at x72 magnification. This tripod is very stable with very little shake on driving and focussing. Although significantly heavier than the Star Adventurer tripod the whole setup is still light enough that I can pick it up carry it outside and be viewing the sky in 5 or 10 minutes. Overall it's a good solid tripod, well worth the investment. Now I'm thinking of getting a bigger refractor.

I made a fork mount for my 20/40 x 100 binoculars which have a combined (bins and fork) weight of 17 kg. This tripod handles the weight well and is very stable. Can recommend as a strong general purpose mount for DIY usage

I bought this to use with a SW GTi mount and it certainly fits the bill. Gives a very steady platform for mount and scope. I M very happy with this set up.
mount for star watcher adventurer

This was purchased as a replacement tripod for use on a star adventurer, my old tripod was a modified eq1 tripod which worked but had vibration issues. to say this mount is over kill for an star adventurer is perhaps an understatement, but it does make it rock solid. it is heavy but the legs are stainless steel tube and the casting that holds it together is of solid construction, and to be fair if you were dragging it to a dark site, you might notice the weight, but if you can get past the weight issue, then at the price i think its money well spent. I would probably say a must if you are going to add something like an ed72 on to your star adventurer, yes its twice the price of the mount for the star adventurer, but you are never going to suffer issues with wind moving the tripod. tripod is now sitting the corner with the star adventurer fitted, ready to throw over my shoulder should we get some cloudless nights. thank FLO for prompt delivery

This is a very significant upgrade from the stock tripod that comes with the AZ GTI and the Solarquest mounts. Itís easily worth the cost to have the added stability and security. There is a noticeable improvement in the shakes after focusing.
Great, stable, solid tripod for AZ GTi

I have been impressed with this tripod which I am using with a Skywatcher AZ GTi (plus extension tube) to carry my Borg 107FL. It is also very lightweight and carrying the tripod, mount and scope all in one go is a breeze!
