About this product
The Askar FMA230 is a highly versatile ED triplet telescope and camera lens.
When used with the supplied with 4-element 0.84x reducer/corrector the FMA230 is a highly corrected F4.6 wide field astrograph that provides sharp high contrast images using a DSLR or mirrorless camera or an astronomy optimised imaging camera.
When used for visual astronomy at F5.5 the FMA230 also provides wonderful wide field views. (Includes a 2" eyepiece adaptor plus extensions so can be used with both 2" and 1.25" diagonals).
The three element fully multicoated triplet design includes two ED lenses to enhance contrast and minimise chromatic aberration.
A smooth helical focuser terminates in an M48x.75 thread with the standard 55mm back focus distance.
Supplied with red anodised aluminium tube rings and a Vixen dovetail mounting plate.
Also includes a convenient carrying handle that doubles as a mount for finders, guide scopes and a ZWO ASiair (all available separately).
The top of the handle is machined as an Arca-Swiss tripod plate, enabling you to ‘invert’ the scope and mount it easily on a photo tripod.
The mounting rings, Vixen plate and handle can also be removed when used with a DSLR or mirrorless camera for handheld shooting or when the camera itself is mounted to a tripod.
