Model: ae_plossl_ep_10mm
All focal lengths offer 52º field-of-view except the 40mm which offers 42º.
Threaded nosepiece accepts 1.25" filters (except the 56mm, which has a 2" nosepiece that accepts 2" filters).
32 and 40mm: due to the 1.25" barrel size the 32 and 40mm eyepieces actually show the same area of sky so, for visual use, the 32mm is the better choice. The 40mm is however useful when a compact camera is positioned over the eyepiece for afocal photography.
56mm: The 56mm is an impressive eyepiece that is larger and heavier than the others. It's 2" diameter nosepiece requires a 2" eyepiece holder or diagonal. Due to its larger design it is not parafocal with the other eyepieces in this series (you will need to refocus when changing eyepieces).
Note to spectacle wearers: Plossl eyepieces with 15mm and longer focal lengths are good choices for spectacle wearers but for shorter focal lengths the StarGuider BST series eyepieces have greater eye-relief so are better suited.
I bought the 7.5mm Eyepiece, and it's a great product. it's solid and it's worth buying it. I am happy with it.
Bought this to replace the standard 25mm that came with the scope. Theres not much different magnification wise but the overall build of the eyepiece is very good. Has a comfy rubber grip at the top and a thread to screw filters on to, something my standard eyepiece doesn't have. FLO are fantastic to deal with!
I purchased another more expensive eyepiece previously that was 4 times the price of this one but not 4 times the image quality. Save some money and buy something that works, robust eyepiece that delivers and doesn’t break the bank.
I suffer from arthritis, bending over an eyepiece for extended periods is either painful or not possible - This 56mm super plossl with a diagonal make it a pleasure To align .Brilliant advice !
Bought the 56mm one from this range originally but after a single use and some research realised it gave far to LOW a magnification for my telescope. My error. FLO refund without quibble, bought the 32mm rather than 40mm taking advice from the Web page and some further calculations as to minimum I should use accros my collection of telescopes. Tried the 32mm last night, it gives x31 in my SW Newtonian and I found it works well with my reading glasses on. Also, almost parfocal with my other eyepieces so overall, very pleased.
