This nice and well-made focuser goes nicely with my Orion 120ST refractor. I did had to shave or sand off by hand just a little bit inside the telescope's flange or rim where the focuser goes in and gets mounted on with its 3 screws. All was done within an hour and wasn't too difficult to do. One thing I didn't like, for 2" eyepieces, instead of one thumbscrew to secure the eyepieces in the holder, it should've included 2 thumbscrews. Luckily, the focuser's 2" eyepiece holder does have a second machined hole for adding an additional thumbscrew, but I don't know what's its correct size. Anyone know?
I have this week fitted this focuser to my Startravel 102t. The only problem I encountered was fitting this focuser into the tube. It required considerable sanding of the inside of tube using a Dremel type tool. However, the final fit was perfect and well worth the effort. The difference between the stock focuser and this one is night and day, the action is smooth and precise. Some people say that why spend money on this relatively expensive upgrade when the 102t is so cheap. My answer would be that the 102t provides excellent widefield views and is excellent value for money, the addition of this upgrade is quite justified.
I must say this the best upgrade you can do...replacing the stock focuser. A big plus is the level of quality you get for the money. Wow, what a bargain. This is a no brainer if I ever saw one! Thanks to FLO.
Fits the Orion ST120 refractor perfectly. Does not slip with large eyepieces, focus knobs turn very easily and positively. Great value.
