Solid Finder

There are cheaper finders but this is all aluminium build, sturdy and easy to set up.
It has firm fixings which won't move out of alignment if knocked.
Definitely worth paying the little extra for.

Very well made

The finder looks impressive just on opening the box. Construction is all metal, and it's very well finished; even the battery cover is light alloy. Once set up, the robust construction keeps it accurately aimed. It requires hex keys for for this, but these are supplied, and this method does mean that it's less likely to be inadvertently shifted. On my telescopes, there was ample leeway for adjustment, and it was easy to get good accuracy.

This is a very nice piece of kit, small in size suitable for Refractors. You get a choice of red or green reticles with different brightness levels. Also 4 choices of reticle shapes.

The only drawback is that setting up was very fiddly. You need a tiny Allen Key (which I have since lost) to unlock the adjusters. This is found in a very small hole on the right-hand side (viewing from the rear). The instructions are wrong in regards to the procedure for aligning. When you have finished adjusting then re-tighten this.

You then need another different size Allen Key to adjust the reticle position (On the top and left hand side). This was rather frustrating as left/right position hardly moved, but up/down seemed to work ok.

The battery was missing from mine, that was another reason for the reduced star rating.

However after all that, I do really like it and I am really enjoying it. I just thought the Telrad (which is my favourite finder) would look a bit silly on a 80mm Refractor.

So if you have some patience then I would recommend this product.
