A sewed in elastic strap allows the Astrozap Dust Cover to fit snugly over the open end of a Newtonian telescope, covering the tube and keeping dust out. This helps protect the optics from excessive dust accumulation on the primary and secondary mirrors, which translates into sharper images.

The original dust cover for my Skywatcher dobsonian was adequate but after time the elastic became stretched. One windy night it blew away never to be seen again. The Astrozap cover is of thicker material and has a stronger elastic so I am expecting it to last some years, as long as I don't lose it somewhere in the dark! Worth the money, recommended.
