Speediest delivery, quality telescope
24 November 2023  |

The telescope arrived 22 hours after I'd ordered it. Amazing stuff. I'm a complete novice but I'm thoroughly enjoying this telescope and my confidence with it grows each night I get out. The red dot finder is a godsend. The eyepieces supplied provide quality viewing of the moon. I can't wait to get a couple of decent deep-sky eyepieces and see the maximum this telescope has to offer. Thanks to FLO for answering a couple of questions I had prior to purchase.

Perfect first telescope

I've had this telescope for almost a year, and I couldn't be happier with it. It's light and versatile. It can be used on its dob base or on a tripod. It can be packed away for traveling. With a 6-inch aperture, it provides decent optics, and considering the price, this telescope is very good.

Easy to use great views

Enjoying the speed and simplicity of this scope which is so easy to set up. Great views too. I had previously owned a scope which was 4 times more expensive but it was heavy and took ages to align. By the time it was all sorted either the clouds had come or the lens was picking up dew! This is just so much more enjoyable.

everything I had hoped for

Service (delivery) was excellent. Delivered within 24 hours even though Royal Mail Christmas strikes was making this an even more difficult "ask" of the seller and it's couriers.
The item itself was well packaged and seems to do just as I had hoped - complete beginner so not sure if I'm the best person to make comments on the true quality of the telescope - But I'm happy with the results.

Great service from FLO

Quick delivery after matching price, and having answered my pre-sale questions. Great bit of kit - though only one clear sky night since it arrived and the moon a tiny dot in the West - but even on lowest magnification showed up some fine details. Looking forward to longer darker nights after the solstice. Best thing is it tucks away under my desk rather than being on a tripod and taking up half the conservatory, and light to carry to optimum position for viewing.

SW Heritage 150P
23 February 2021  |

I had no experience of astronomy at all. So, I did a lot of research as my son is space and rocket mad - bought this for Christmas thinking that it wouldn't arrive in time, but it did (great - thanks FLO!)

This is a superb 'scope and I've found myself getting into this hobby as a result - I've just completed an EQ platform that works well with this. Being a flextube it packs down nicely, so doesn't take up loads of space - it is carried out in one piece and set up within seconds.

Plenty of views of the Moon, Orion Nebula, clusters, Andromeda, lots of stars etc, although winter weather and clouds have limited our time out! Waiting for the other planets to come around to view in the spring/summer.
The included 25mm eyepiece is good, but the 10mm I find is not so good. I bought a set of BST Starguiders and it has made a lot of difference over the included eyepieces. I have also been experimenting with afocal photography using my phone mounted against the eyepiece, with some good results.

The only thing I don't like about it is the helical focuser.. it's ok once you get used to it, but it's not the best.

Excellent first telescope

I’d recommend this as a first telescope. Easy to set up and start viewing quickly. Didn’t need collimating out of the box. Eyepieces are good quality. Well made and feels sturdy.

Great first telescope
30 December 2020  |

Bought for my husband for Christmas and he’s thrilled with it. So easy to set up, literally just plonk it somewhere and go. We’ve only used a couple of times as the weather has been awful, but have seen loads of detail on surface of moon, constellations, Mars and looking forward to trying to find Saturn and Jupiter. Would recommend

Fantastic views!
23 June 2020  |

I had been after a new telescope for a few years now but never got round to getting one. I needed something that was light, portable, easy to set up and point, and this telescope hit the nail on the head.

It is all of the above and the views are spectacular. I used some lenses from my now old telescope on this and can clearly see planets such as Jupiter and Saturn through it (you can see them through both eye pieces that come with the telescope).

The red dot finder is brilliant. It's accurate, easy to operate and when the dot is on an object, you know you'll be able to see it through the main eye piece. The only thing that takes some getting used to on this telescope is the focuser. Because of its design, it can take a little getting used to, but you should be familiar with it after the first night of use.

All in all, money very, very well spent. Spectacular views, easy to use, point and view! Amazing!

Q1. Can I use a digital camera attached to this telescope?

A digital camera is not suitable for this telescope. The mount is not designed to hold that amount of weight and also does not track so couldn't be used for long exposure deep sky imaging. Instead, we would recommend using a panetary camera which could be used to take short videos of bright objects such as planets and the moon. You could achieve short bursts of video without requiring tracking.
