Baader Maxbright II Binoviewer with Glasspathcorrector 1:1.7, T-2 thread, and a 2"/T-2 nosepiece (T-2 part #16).

The Maxbright II Binoviewer is available in different sets, which include further accessories.

Glasspath Correctors (which version you need depends on your telescope), eyepieces, star diagonal and T-2-adapter are not included. Detailed information about the accessories can be found in the Instruction Manual of the Maxbright II binoviewer.

Glasspath Correctors (GC)

A Baader Glasspath Corrector (GC) fulfils two critical roles. First, it corrects the glass path – that's the amount of glass through which light passes on its way through the prisms and which causes chromatic aberrations (colour errors) with fast telescopes. Second, the GC magnifies the focal length and moves the focal point of the main telescope. You will find more information about choosing the right compensator in the Baader Maxbright II Binoviewer instruction manual.

1¼" and 2" Nosepieces

A T-2 nosepiece in 1¼" (31,8mm, # 2458105 ) or 2" (50,8 mm, # 2408150) is used to connect the binoviewer either through the pre-installed T-2 coupling nut or the optional TQC quick changer with a focuser/eyepiece clamp. They can also enable with a T-2 star diagonal at 1¼" or 2" focusers.

1¼" Star Diagonals

The optical length (that is, the necessary back-focus) must be added to the optical length of the binoviewer.

27mm prisms with 26 / 25,5mm clear aperture for all 1,25"-eyepieces – up to focal lengths of 35mm
Ergonomically designed ClickLock eyepiece clamps with diopter adjustment
Baader Astro T-2 System connector thread (M 42 x 0.75) and Zeiss micro-bayonet for the shortest possible connection to (almost) all existing telescope systems
Optical tube length: 110 mm (+/- 1 mm tolerance)

Fantastic piece of kit

This is a fantastic binoviewer and a big step up from my previous William optics binoviewers. The click lock attachments on each eye piece are a joy to use, and the separate focusing mechanism is very accurate and doesn’t rotate the eyepiece which means collimation stay spot on. The wide aperture means I can observe lower powers and wider fields for deep sky. The T2 fittings mean the light path can be shortened and I believe I will still be able to reach focus with a 1.25 glass path corrector in my 102ED, giving me even lower powers and wider fields of view. The 2 inch diagonal nose piece means a 2 inch to 1 1/4 inch converter is not required shortening the light path even more. I bought a pair of Ursa Major 25 mm flat field eyepieces to go with the Maxbrights and they work perfectly. Great service from FLO, they arrived much earlier than expected.
