The celestron Skris series of cameras are the result of a marriage between Celestron and Imaging Source and feature quality components and high performance including Sony imaging sensors, high-speed USB 3.0 connections and 12-bit image output that out-performs regular 8-bit images provided by standard planetary CCDs.
The external camera housing has also been redesigned by Celestron for improved heat dissipation, minimising the temperature effect on CCD noise.
All Celestron Skyris cameras are guaranteed free from defects in materials and workmanship for two years.
Mono v Colour?
The monochrome camera offers the most sensitivity for capturing the best possible astro-images. Either use the camera by itself to capture black-and-white images of the Moon and planets or attach your own filters and filter wheel to create colour planetary images. The monochrome camera offers you increased sensitivity and the flexibility to image the way you want.
The one-shot colour camera enables you to capture full-colour images instantly. There is no need to spend time imaging the same target multiple times to capture different colours. You also won't need to invest in filters and a filter wheel, making the colour option an economical choice.
