  • Our reply was not a standard reply, it was based on exactly what you had ordered and detailed our current estimate for when the goods will be available. I'm sorry you are disappointed but there is no update beyond the estimates already given to you but we won't know more until much closer to that anticipated ship date.

  • It's good you remember the lead time being 40-60 days but you seem to have missed the 'working days' part which takes us up until late December which is when we expect to deliver the goods, within the estimates given so we have definitely not mislead you and anticipate delivering exactly as planned :-)

  • Unfortunately it does sound like your mount has arrived with a fault and we have already begun organising to collect and replace it. We are very clear that we do not offer telephone support and we are also not open at weekends so responded first thing Monday morning when we re-opened I'm not sure what more we could've done in this situation.

  • We were replying to a simple stock query from this customer at 8pm at night. They demanded we phone them and we politely explained we do not offer telephone support but were happy to help even though we were currently closed. I'm not sure what more lengths we could go to in this instance and we are very disappointed to have been left negative feedback. Having your query responded to within minutes at 8pm at night with the information you need should be considered exceptional service in anybodies book.

  • Contacted us on a Sunday, we replied first thing Monday morning. Unfortunately Duncan seems unable to understand that if something is out of stock across the UK, there is no way we can produce one from thin air for him to buy same day. There are no available alternatives to a 10" Dobsonian in stock at present or any other Dobsonian of any size so no alternative was offered.

  • We are a little confused by this one, when you ordered, you would've been given our standard 1-2 working day despatch estimate for in-stock items. This was shipped on the second day (within our estimate) and we shipped via courier which is the option you selected. You didn't select a Saturday delivery which is considerably more expensive than the standard express courier service you opted for so this was delivered the next working day.Choosing a different courier only affects the speed goods travel once despatched by us, it doesn't affect how quickly we can ship an order.

  • I'm sorry we made you wait for the replacement John - this should not have happened. In situations like this we usually send out the replacement in advance so I will check what happened here. It's possible we wanted to double check the faulty one first to see if the issue could be resolved another way but even so, we shouldn't have held it up.In terms of pushing orders to fulfilment, nothing could be further from the truth - we have employed two additional members of staff in our warehouse to ensure orders are sent as soon as possible. The bigger issue at present is the supply chain generally particularly items coming from overseas due to demand / shortage / delays - prompting doesn't typically change the speed at which things happen so this is purely coincidental.

  • Martin was correct, you selected a 'signed for' service which explicitly says no tracking is provided. We can see some tracking up until the goods leave the UK but beyond that, the only tracking we will see is when you sign for the goods. My colleague also didn't ask you to show more patience, he simply requested you give it a little more time as in our experience we've not had a single item not turn up yet, it's just been taking a little longer. I don't think that's an unreasonably request given the current situation.

People who prefer to have tracking and faster delivery options can opt for the more expensive courier options if they choose but we find most people opt for the cheaper RM services which generally work very well.

  • 2-5 working days is typically what we expect to see from Royal Mail international service but, on occasion this can take much longer particularly during the Christmas holiday period. We would not be concerned until 3-4 weeks had passed at which point we would open an investigation and send replacement goods.We do recommend people choose a courier service to guarantee a quicker international delivery.
