Es Reid Optical Bench Test
Following a number of requests we are offering an Es Reid optical bench test for Esprit telescopes.
Es Reid is highly regarded in the optical industry so if you purchase his optical bench test you can be confident your telescope will, from the outset, have well figured optics, negligible false colour and spherical aberration, and no astigmatism (the bane of any optical system!). Star shapes will be round, not triangular, oval or egg-shaped!
Because most Esprit telescopes test AOK out-of-the-box (only a small number require adjustment) this extra layer of quality control adds only £75 to the purchase price.
Price includes a pre-dispatch optical bench test. For details see here.
Sky-Watcher Professional ESPRIT 3-Element ED apochromatic refractors offer optical performance rivalling or exceeding similar telescopes from even the most famous high-end brands.
Designed primarily for demanding astro-imagers wanting high-contrast images full of detail and zero detectable colour fringing, even on the brightest of objects!
An M48-fitting doublet field flattener is also available to flatten the field and minimise aberration and distortion. When used with the field flattener the Esprit-100's imaging circle is 40mm.
The M48 fitting provides a large clear aperture to reduce halation and a precision thread ensures the triplet and doublet lens groups are precisely aligned on the optical axis perpendicular to the image.

I bought the Esprit 100ED only for imaging and the results from the first imaging run were jaw dropping good. The scope is my first 'quality' refractor, married to the field flattener and an ASI 1600MM-Pro the narrowband and RGB images are clear and sharp, suffice to say it is exactly what I wanted from a scope.
FLO's service was great as always.

I already had a Celestron Edge but wanted a traditional style scope too. When I bought this it was on good advice from FLO. I am only a beginner but like nice stuff. Lol. Excellent carry case for a start. I am happy to transport this anywhere in the case. The whole setup shouts quality and care. Superb finish, mechanics and glass. It was a good 2 weeks before I had a sky to try it and Oh man, I was impressed with the views. Seeing the Andromeda Galaxy for the first time was heart stopping. Lucky for me though it started again and I had an excellent evenings viewing. Jupiter looked like I could touch it. My Celestron AX mount didn't have the correct dovetail but I bought a Vixen dovetail and go an engineering company to drill and tap it correctly so it all fits. FLO were good with advice on these parts too.
A brilliant scope. Once I get a season of observation under my belt I can start using a camera with it.

Lets start with this , because actually is the first thing you observe .....Everybody knows that triplets needs to be handle with extra care.......
I was worried because i live in Athens - Greece , how DHL will handle the scope etc...
When the scope arrived and had the chance to open it , i never though that this kind of packaging exists !!!
You name it !!!!
Box in another box , filled with pallet style carton box , with foam legs , with small anti vibration balls around the scope !!!!!!!!and all this inside a heavy duty black suitcase !!!!!!!
Everything intact !!!!!!!!!
Thank you .
