About this product

Model:  baader-2457000A
Part Number:  2457000

The Baader Universal Quick Release finder base (finder-shoe) is compatible with most standard finder brackets and some red dot finders. The base can also be used as an additional base on telescopes that don't already have a finder shoe in a convenient position.

Suitable for use with Skywatcher and Celestron telescopes and many others.

CNC machined with a curved base and elongated holes for a good fitting to almost any telescope, including Schmidt-Cassegrains (SCT).

The Baader finder base has two elongated holes for screws up to M5, with either a countersunk head or a flat cylindrical head. Spacing between the screws is 27-45mm. In addition the base has a central countersunk hole for screws up to M5.

Screws and nuts are not included.

Baader Universal Quick Release Finder Shoe
20 March 2023  |

I bought this to mount my Zwo Asiair onto Baader Steeltrack focuser replacing a generic no name brand. Very happy with the item, the finish is excellent and so is the fit. Service and communication from FLO was faultless. Very happy customer.

Just what I needed
17 October 2022  |

Cheaped out and bought one from amazon which was terrible quality. Learnt from my mistake and came to the right place.
Attaches to a Celestron C8 perfectly and is holding a EVOGuide 50ED. Thank you.

Baadar Universal Qick Release Finder Shoe/Base
11 October 2022  |

Bought this to attach a finder scope to a Celestron 8 inch sct OTA. The product is sturdy and well made and fits perfectly into the existing screw holes on the OTA. It provides a good rigid support for the finder scope ( a Skywatcher 50 x 90).
Does the job perfectly. Would recommend. As usual, the service from First Light Optics was faultless-package shipped and arrived rapidly and was well packed to avoid any damage in transit. It really is a pleasure dealing with FLO.

Quality finish as usual with Baader products

I purchased this to replace the plastic SCT fitting on my Bresser Messier Mak 127. The hole spacing is perfect and would fit a wide range of OTA's.
The image is not very clear on this, also you'll need to provide your own bolts.

Good universal fit

With it's slotted screw holes and and wider base it fitted my 1998 C8 and has given a solid mount for my 240 x 60mm guide scope.

Adding an additional Finder Shoe to my ESPRIT 100ED OTA
06 November 2020  |

I discovered there is an additional M5 threaded hole under the manufactures sticker on the Skywatcher ESPRIT 100ED.
By installing this shoe I am better able to distribute the weight of my ZWO EAF, guidescope and ASIAIR Pro to achieve good side to side balance on the mount.
The quality of the shoe exceeds that of the shoe supplied with the telescope.

Fits well on my old celestron tube.
07 April 2020  |

Bought this to fit the skywatcher finder scope onto my old Celestron 8 inch SCT. Screws onto the celestron snugly (using the screws already on the celestron). Also the fit for the finderscope dovetail is good and snug. Happy with it.

Solid and straightforward to fit
18 September 2019  |

This is a well-made and solid-feeling shoe which firmly secured the finder to the OTA. To fit it to my Heritage 130p, I removed the primary mirror and covered the secondary with a plastic bag to prevent dust/scatching. I marked up the outside of the tube with a pencil and drilled three 5mm holes with a HSS bit, directly vacuuming away the metal debris. I then used three 8mm M5 black countersunk socket screws and nuts (not supplied with the shoe) to attach the shoe. These screws are short enough that they don't protrude into the mirror's working aperture.

I bought a Sky-Watcher 9x50mm RACI finder at the same time, which sits firmly in the shoe with the screws done up exactly as it should!

The only thing that would make this shoe better is if bolts/nuts were supplied with it.
