Upright image with completely corrected left/right image orientation.

SkyWatcher's 9x50 Right-Angled Erecting Finderscope provides an upright image with completely corrected left/right image orientation for more comfortable and convenient operation when compared to a traditional straight-through viewing finder.

The achromatic 50mm objective delivers good light gathering, a wide 45° field of view and a cross-hair reticule for easy navigation.

The 50mm aperture is genuine, it is not stopped down like some cheaper finderscopes.

Easy to setup and easy to use. The mounting bracket fits into standard finder shoes from Vixen, Skywatcher, Celestron, GSO, etc. Additional finder shoes are available separately.

To attach this to a Celestron SCT you will need a Baader Quick Release Finder Base.

To focus the finderscope simply unscrew the lock-ring, rotate the objective, then re-close the lock-ring.

Awesome finderscope
Tuesday, 30 January 2018  |

Puts my old 6x30 straight-through finder to shame. Much brighter so useful for DSOs and having an erect image is intuitive. My one criticism is that 9x mag is almost too powerful. 7x would make it easier to locate the target. But this is a minor issue.

This 9x50 finderscope is probably the best accessory I've acquired. Incredibly comfortable compared with the miserable 6x30 straight through that I've just thrown away.
I also have to mention the people at first light optics for their help and courtesy, whose assistance made the purchase a pleasure.
5 stars all round!

Should be standard on all scopes

I've used straight through finders for ages but with an EQ mount thy get put in some really awkward positions for viewing / finding a target, my neck / back is just not that flexible on a cold night.

This is a real boon, not only does it present the view in the same position as the eyepiece but it's corrected so slewing onto the object is much more intuitive. Why aren't these standard on all Newts, even with the difference in retail cost they'd be worth it !

Superb finder
Saturday, 6 July 2013  |

My SWED80 came with a 9x50 straight through finder which in turn meant a cricked neck and yoga style moves to see through the finder.

So I changed it to the RA finder and have not regreted it. I like the fact that everything is the right way as that makes things easier when first locating a target.

I rate it 4 because in my opinion it should have locking nuts to set the position when aligned.

Well worth the money
Saturday, 26 May 2012  |

Bought this for my recently purchased Skywatcher 200P dobsonian.
Makes it so much easier to use whilst sat down and not having to twist my back trying to look through the straight-through on supplied. I also find it easer to use because of the correct way upand correct left-right image.
Mine was actually black with a white bracket and holder and matches the scope perfectly. Maybe FLO should update the picture as it did put me off buying it at first.

A little too much magnification?
Monday, 7 May 2012  |

I bought this as a direct replacement to the red dot finder that came with the scope. As it is, I find that the x9 magnification is too much and so I now use both - the red dot for rough finding and then the 9x50 to centre the object for the telescope viewing.

Does what it should so shouldn't mark it down really, but only 4 stars from me.
