About this product

Model:  sw9x50raefinder
Part Number:  20934

Upright image with completely corrected left/right image orientation.

Sky-Watcher's 9x50 Right-Angled Erecting Finderscope provides an upright image with completely corrected left/right image orientation for more comfortable and convenient operation when compared to a traditional straight-through viewing finder.

The achromatic 50mm objective delivers good light gathering, a wide 45° field of view and a cross-hair reticule for easy navigation.

The 50mm aperture is genuine, it is not stopped down like some cheaper finderscopes.

Easy to setup and easy to use. The mounting bracket fits into standard finder shoes from Vixen, Sky-Watcher, Celestron, GSO, etc. Additional finder shoes are available separately.

To attach this to a Celestron SCT you will need a Baader Quick Release Finder Base.

To focus the finderscope simply unscrew the lock-ring, rotate the objective, then re-close the lock-ring.

  • 9x50 right-angle erect-image finder with achromatic lens and cross-hair reticule

Skywatcher 9x50 right-angled, erecting finderscope.

Gives a bright, upright view of the sky, easily seen through the right-angled eyepiece. Algnment works well with the sprung screw.

Great field of view and no crick in the neck!
05 January 2022  |

I replaced a 'red dot' finder scope with this 9X50 scope on my Skywatcher 120mm star-travel telescope and I am very pleased with the result. Perhaps the best thing about it, is that like the viewfinder on the main scope it is right angled which means that finding objects no longer gives me a crick in the neck! It also has a superb field of view, which together with an appropriate magnification (9x) and the very useful cross hairs, finding a target could not be easier. Highly recommended.

Saves the aches and pains in my neck
23 September 2021  |

Purchased as a direct replacement for the stock skywatcher finderscope to reduce the pain I get when 'craning my neck round' to view objects high in the sky. I like the simplicity of this finder which works very well, it is clear and the graticule is focused nice and sharp and as a direct replacement for the original item, fits perfectly, however after just a few days of use I have noticed that I have lots of new scratch marks on my very expensive glasses. The eyepiece on this view finder has a basic plastic surround. I have since purchased an alternative that has a safer (for my glasses) rubberised eyecup.

Great Improvement
20 September 2021  |

I bought this to upgrade the straight 6 x 30 finderscope that came with my Skymax 127. It’s a much better finderscope, almost worth using as a telescope in its own right for wide field of view objects! The right angled eyepiece avoids having to crawl on the ground when aligning with high elevation objects and means I can easily switch between looking through the finderscope and the main scope.

Came with clouds
13 September 2021  |

Unfortunately the warning on the box has turned into reality: I've not yet had an opportunity to use it as a finderscope. However, I'm happy to review it on the basis of delivery times, ease of fitting/aligning and the clarity of view - all of which come out well. I'm also looking forward to fewer occasions when I either twist my neck or nudge the telescope as I used to do all the time with my old 6x30 straight through finderscope. I think its field-of-view will be well-suited to the sort of observing I do (- no GoTo or guiding, so star-hopping is necessary). All that's required now is a decent night for observing

Quick And Easy Setup!
26 August 2020  |

I bought this to use on my Sky-Watcher Skyliner 200P Dobsonian. It was quick to install and align. The only thing is that I was so used to the straight through version, that it took a while to used to everything being the right way round!

Great little finderscope
15 July 2020  |

When I opened packaging and got this finderscope it's bigger than I first thought. It's a good size and gives clear sharp view. I'm happy with this. It easily attached to my new Skywatcher evostar 72ed ds pro refractor. Delivery was very quick!
