This popular desiccant cap has a dual diameter nosepiece to fit both 1.25" and 2" focusers.
Supplied with 10 sachets of moisture absorbing desiccant.
Red anodised screw cap and black-anodised cup. Made entirely from CNC-machined aluminium (no plastic!).
Designed and manufactured in the UK.
A sachet or two is placed in the cup then the lid screwed on. A captive O-ring ensures the cap fits snugly into 2-inch focusers and the lid is air-tight. The desiccant draws moisture from inside the telescope tube through the cap's breathing holes. Used regularly the cap will prevent moisture harming the telescope optics.
The desiccant starts yellow then turns green when it can no longer absorb moisture. The desiccant sachets can be dried on a radiator then reused several times. Replacement sachets are available.
Note: Please don't remove desiccant from the sachets (the sachets are perforated).
Suitable for SCT, Maksutov, refractor and other telescopes with a closed-tube design.

If you store your SCT outside or in the garage then these great caps keep all the moisture off your mirrors. When you finish on a cold night all the dampness is absorbed and you need not worry. Highly recommended!

I use this to help keep the optics of my ED80 dry when the scope isn't being used, for periods of time.
I like the quality of this cap, it is strong since being made of aluminium and it fits easily into both 1.25" and 2" focussers.
Colour changing desiccant sachets make it easy to know when they need changing, and can easily be dried out for use again in the future.
Overall, I am glad I purchased this item, something that isn't very expensive and can help 'take care' of your telescope.

Very impressed with the quality of this item and although some might think not cheap, it is in my view a small price to pay and good value to protect the significant investment I have in my observatory housed OTA
