Love it!!!

First comment would be order time. When I purchased it said it would be a week. I don't know how FLO define a week but arriving 48 hours after I ordered it was a really pleasant surprise! As is usual with ZWO the instructions can be a little confusing but there are literally hundreds of how to guides out there on the internet so it did not take very long to get it fitted.

I have used with both NINA and Sharpcap and I have to say this is probably my favourite bit of kit I have bought to date. It is very well made and the removal of the power supply and powering though USB is a really good idea as it cuts down on cables needed.

I find it works flawlessly, my pictures now are so sharp, I really don't know why I didn't get one of these before.

Definitely would recommend getting one and would always recommend buying from here!

Electonic Focuser from ZWO
Thursday, 2 September 2021  |

Purchased together with the temerature controller, the focuser has worked extremely smoothly and with accurate focusing. It integrates seamlessly with the AIPAIR pro and associated app, which I use on the Ipad. The focuser will automatically refocus using the Autorun integration and temperature movement parameters. It can also be programmed to focus after a meridian flip. An excellent piece of equipment. So why only a 4* rating? In a word, "Instructions". With ZWO you know the instructions will be lacking and the first thing to do is to head to the web for "How To " videos. Once I assembled the focuser with the scope fully retracted, it worked perfectly. if only ZWO would improve their documentation they would be truly 5*

A good addition

Just bought this and another few small items from First Light Optics. So far, very pleased with this ZWO autofocuser having used it on a couple of occasions to date. Makes life much easier and with the ASIair pro, it's a breeze.
Excellent support and advice from Chris at FLO.

ZWO Electronic Automatic Focuser (EAF) 5V on a William Optics GT81 Mk4

Extremely easy to fit the EAF to this scope , the kit even contains the 2 allen keys you need to do the changeover. Took all of 10 minutes to get to the testing it running stage (tested with APT).
I had looked at the videos on uTube before I ordered it so I knew what to expect.
Runs very smooth and will give me full remote imaging capability (from a cosy seat beside the woodstove).
Have uploaded a photo sequence of fitting it to the GT81 along with some tips on Stargazers Lounge if anyone is thinking of doing the same.

Great product - ideally used with an ASIair Pro. Surprisingly easy to attach to the scope by searching on YouTube for a video to follow. Probably the only astro product that doesn’t seem expensive

Great bit of kit.

As title states, solid and well made but can't give a review as yet as have not had chance to use it as yet under seeing conditions. FLO were great and kept me informed on progress of order and once sent out took less than 24 hours to arrive.

ZWO EAF autofocuser on Skywatcher Explorer 200P Newtonian
Friday, 30 April 2021  |

The EAF looks and feels Quality and overall I'm very pleased with the 'tech', especially for the price. The box contains several bags of bits and pieces and 4 shaft coupling options to cater for different shaft diameters, I used the thinnest bore on the standard Skywatcher hand focuser wheel.
There are baggies of different screws and fixings, which is nice except there is no clarification as to what they are intended for? A bit of a hint and some descriptions in the instruction manual would have saved a lot of head scratching. It's a process of looking at your OTA and figuring out what needs to go where to attach. The right angle bracket is nicely made but flat, the SW (and the DC motor bracket I removed - to be replaced by..) is slightly curved but the standard (small, fiddly SW) screws are long enough and by carefully tightening each corner (there are 4) the flat EAF plate can be fixed into place.
A gripe is that this attachment plate only fits in one place due to the focus locking knob/screw and this sets the shaft to coupler to EAF distance which only just about makes it - time will tell if this is secure enough or becomes a problem.
As I didn't take the hand controller I used the ASCOM Profile utility to check the drivers were loaded and present (and remove the old focuser) , the utility fired up a simple focuser interface and I checked the in/out operation.
Just to note that the stepper motor doesn't turn by hand and there are 4 grub screws - 2 at either end of the shaft coupler - so you need to drive the motor to spin so these come to face you and can be tightened.

So, it's all attached, seems to be working but not seen 'first light' and not seen what the temperature probe does as yet but thus far very pleased and looking forward to firing it all up in The SkyX and having a play.

Would have been 5 stars for better instructions and specifics on the SW Explorer 200P

Feels and looks like a well build product & smartly finished case. It wasn't designed to fit my particular telescope WO Zenithstar 80 ED but with a few adjustments to the standard bracket supplied I have it very securely mounted. Easy to set up with my software, SharpCap 3.2. Very impressed with the smooth operation and repeatability of focus position. There's more to learn about it's use yet but it's already a winner as far as I'm concerned. Tempted to buy another for my larger scope that is permanently mounted in my observatory.

Easy to install on the Redcat 51

A couple of cheese plates, a belt drive from a 3D printer, belt, and sprocket (cut to length and glue/sew into a loop £6.50 from Amazon), and it all worked fine.
