Sky-Watcher 0.77x Reducer for Esprit 120ED Triplet
01 June 2021  |

The 0.77 Reducer is absolutely excellent, working brilliantly with the Esprit 120 (focal length 840mm at f7) and giving me a whole lot of new options, presenting me with a telescope of focal length 650mm at f5.3.
It produces exquisite details and perfect stars
I now have an additional telescope that’s fits in between my Esprit 120 and W.O. Zenithstar 81 (440mm with its reducer).
I did require some help from FLO in fitting the reducer. I did not realise that it has to inserted deep into the focusing tube of the telescope to engage with the screw thread!

Q1. Is this necessary if I use the EvoGuide 50ED only as a guidescope?

No. Guiding software is only interested in the centre of the star and is usually very tolerant of star shape so a flattener is not necessary.
