Concept: Since portability and ease of use are design goals for all Tele Vue telescopes, we developed alt-azimuth mounts that share these goals. The Tele Vue yoke and cradle design offers balanced, smooth motions. The tripod selection ranges from the highly portable aluminium Tele-pod to the rock-solid wooden Gibraltar HD.

The self-contained head comes with a handle, is Sky Tour ready, and can be used on any camera tripod with either a 1/4-20 or 3/8-16 stud. It is the most portable DSC mount head available. We highly recommend the Eyepiece Caddy Set accessory since the Tele-Pod Mount and standard camera tripods do not have accessory trays.

The Tele-Pod represents the most travel-friendly mount for our smaller scopes. For more rigidity under heavier loads, the Tele-Pod head is attached to ash wood legs and tray to become the Panoramic™ mount. Since the Sky Tour encoder attachment points are within the head, the Panoramic™ mount is capable of Sky Tour.

The Panoramic™ Mount is available in solid ash. It places the scope approximately 2.3- to 4 feet above the ground. Metal ground spikes with rubber tips are provided. A central wood tray attaches quickly and adds rigidity and a convenient platform for accessories.
