Well made kit, with meticulous instructions. 24 December 2021 | Stephen
I'd wanted one of these for a while, and at last they are back in stock.
Pre-punched card kits can be a bit of a gamble, but I've always found the AstroMedia ones to be pretty good, although a bit of fettling is still required. You do need to use a craft knife for some bits (helpfully, the instructions tell you where this may be necessary), and they provide abrasive paper, which can be used to get the parts to fit perfectly. The detailed step-by-step instructions appear to have been written by a native English-speaker, and they are very comprehensive, even alerting you to possible mis-prints in some print runs.
In all, it took about 5 hours to make, but that did include some waiting time for adhesive to set. The resulting dial is very sturdy, owing to most of it being at least 4-ply card.
