Introducing the Deep Sky Dad AF3 Auto Focuser kit for the William Optics Red/Space Cat

The brand new William Optics RedCat telescope is an alternative to the widefield lens shooting with 250mm of focal length. With the helical focuser, focusing can be quite time consuming process even with the Bahtinov mask (especially with narrowband filters). Our auto focuser will save you time and frustration by providing pinpoint stars on your beautiful photos of the cosmos.

With the extension block (3D printed or aluminium), DAD raised the telescope just high enough to snugly fit the motor between the telescope and the dovetail. This results in a balanced, compact solution, leaving room available for other accessories, like the William Optics guide scope plate that comes with the SpaceCat. The DAD kit is compatible with 110 and 210 dovetails that ship with the cat telescopes.

The AF3 boasts a stealth drive feature to minimise noise and vibration. In addition to the smoother motion it also provides more accurate movement with micro stepping down to 1/256. The enclosure was also optimised for easier assembly but has retained backwards compatibility with existing Astro Dad adapters.

The AF3 is ASCOM/INDI compatible.
