About this product
Part Number: CLR-CAT
The Cooler CAT cooling nozzle will significantly accelerate the thermal stabilisation of the Schmidt-Cassegrain and Maksutov-Cassegrain mirror-lens telescopes.
The closed tubes of these scopes causes heat transfer problems. Owners of large models often have to wait up to several hours for the optics to fully cool. This time remains wasted for serious observations. After all, a telescope even with first-class optics can give distorted images due to heat flows inside the tube.
Cooler CAT is equipped with a fan that collects and focuses the airflow. Through a long tube, air from the outside enters the inside of the telescope and blows around the optical surfaces. This allows you to speed up heat transfer and reduce the cooling time of the optics by several times. The device is equipped with a double filter to prevent dust from entering the telescope while the fan is running. Warm air exits the tube under pressure through special holes in the telescope adapter.
Cooler CAT has an ingenious 1.25/2" moveable adapter design that allows it to be used with all catadioptric telescopes from 8" to 16" in diameter. Before first use, you only need to adjust the adapter on the tube to your telescope tube. After that, the adapter is fixed and retains its position in the future. Using active cooling significantly increases the efficiency of the telescope and allows for a short time to prepare the optics for serious observations.
