The problem with this bit of kit is that it is just too powerful. I used it over Cornwall for about a week on and off and after about 3 months, we had half a day of sunshine and clear blue skys! On a recent holiday to the Bishops Ring Nebula, I only had to use it once and quite a lot of sky was visible and I could look back and see the rings around Skegness quite clearly.
You will need the latest ZX 3.1 drivers and updated firmware to get the best results out of this model. A good hack is to bounce the beam off your eyeball at a tangent which will add 3 degrees dispersion rate.
Overall a good product and value for money but do shop around as there are cheaper models on sUnbay and Amoonzon.Com

I feel cheated by this device. Of course you zap a cloud and just as they say 'all the water nucleates and drops to earth leaving a hole in the cloud'. What they don't say is that all the water in the zapped cloud drops on your garden, Luckily I have a close fitting ed cap on my 15" Dob and was able to float around on thr OTA until the flood subsided, but it took me hours to bale out the observatory using a bahinov mask (another useless object, it leaks like a sieve).
So I missed a whole night's observing and they won't take it back because they say it did exactly what it's supposed to do.

This works brilliantly. If you experience difficulties try the following:
Get a good power pack, don't run on batteries.
Make sure it's collimated correctly.
Don't buy cheap nucleation particle re-fills from the likes of e-bay etc. they don't work.
Works best on cloudless nights.
Well done FLO for another great product, well worth the price.

Follow safety warnings carefully

First of all, I would like to say that this gun, used in the correct way, is absolutely perfect for astronomers blighted by cloudy nights.
However, it is crucial that you follow the safety warnings provided. I drank some rain water within the 24 hour period after using the gun thinking that it wouldn't be a problem. 9 Months later, and my newborn child has webbed feet and two left hands. It very much resembles the beloved alien from the film E.T however it shan't be coming home with us. While I am sure I shan't be returning this wonderful cloud gun, I am however looking to get rid of my mutant offspring so if anyone is looking for one then please get in contact.
All in all a great piece of kit.

I bought this several weeks ago after suffering months of frustration due to the cloud cover. Thought it was expensive, but would, however, be a good investment. How wrong I was. Yes, it was beautifully packaged, (the crushed velvet lined box a very nice touch), but the instructions supplied were next to useless! Full of technical garble as far as I can see...as for the diagrams....well, I can only assume they were crayoned by a grumpy two year old. Rubbish! This is where my problems started - I followed the drawing as best I could but must have reversed the polarity of the AA batteries by mistake. Pointed the gun at a small solitary cloud to see what it would do, then.....HORROR!!!....the whole sky filled with cloud. Instantly. I removed the batteries and replaced them the correct way, but the gun now refuses to work at all. I am very unhappy with this. I can't afford another £200 to buy a working version so it looks as though I am stuck with permanent cloud cover.
In summary, buyer beware!

I live in Mid Wales where we are blessed with dark but cloudy skies so I sold a couple of sheep and bought a Zarkov Cloud Gun (in Welsh Zhaakof Clowdiau Gynnio). Since I first used my ZCG in October we have had no cloud at all here, which is unheard of, but I understand from the television news that it has not stopped raining in England for three months. Tip: For the best effect use at an altitude greater than 350 metres but not when flying in a hot air balloon, a friend of mine in Scotland tried it whilst ballooning and only survived because he was wearing a kilt. 90% of cats prefer it I've heard.
gets rid of pollution too

Bought it a week ago and it seems like godsend. I have used it to clear skies over London during the daytime. Now my colleagues call me rain God. Also used it to expose the people who release their smelly in the underground trains. It is fun to see ice drop behind them when they were thinking nobody will suspect them if they keep a straight face

I received the Zarkov Gun two weeks ago (thanks, Brazilian Customs!), and I thing I overused it!
We are going thru a serious drought, we have water rationing, the crops are withering!
What should I do??
The government is about to held me responsible!
I apreciate some help!

Since I bought my Skywatcher Quattro a few years ago I have only seen half a dozen cloud free nights.
So when I saw this gun I had to order one. I waited with anticipation for the usual fast FLO delivery time as I could hardly wait to try it out, I even ordered a new HD camera to film the event.
When the gun arrived the next morning, I un-boxed it and admired the strange brass like feel but it is a lot lighter that it looks.
Any way I dashed outside and guess what no clouds. It has been like that for month now. How disappointing.
So instead of imaging far off DSOs, I am looking heavenward every night wishing for even one tiny wisp of cloud!
Great product so I have given 5 stars and hope others have better luck than me.
C'est la Vie.
