This Japanese-made binocular offers very high optical performance and manufacturing quality in a traditional porro-prism format.

Simplicity of design (the binoculars are not waterproof) coupled with the highest available grade of glass components provides easy handling and remarkably resolution – matching many roof-prism binoculars costing twice the price!

In addition each model benefits from 'differential multi-coating' meaning different coating types are applied individually to different components within the optical system. More costly than universally applied single multi-coating, this process improves colour contrast in bright sunlight at midday or in low light.

The lightweight body is finished in a contoured natural rubber that completely covers the instrument. The semi-circular rib patterns deliver positive handling in all weather conditions, with or without gloves.

Full field of view with glasses is obtained on both the 8.5x50 and 10x50 models.

These are really good, no-nonsense binos, where all the cost has gone into optical quality rather than waterproofing or other features. I already had the 8x32 version, so knew what to expect: excellent clarity over the whole field and comfortable to use. Recommended, unless you simply must have waterproofing!
