About this product
Part Number: 91010-XLT
This is one of our favourite SCT telescopes, it delivers remarkably high performance per centimeter of aperture!
When Synta acquired Celestron the Americans were not happy, they were not confident the Chinese could manufacture high-quality SCT telescopes. The Chinese can of course manufacture optics to whatever standard they choose. Synta designed and manufactured their first SCT telescope, the one shown here on this page, and supplied it with the Celestron 6SE and Nexstar C6S Adavanced VX. They chose a 6-inch aperture to ensure it would be noticed (there weren't any other 6-inch SCT models on the market). Needless to say the telescope was/is very good and per centimetre of aperture it is still regarded as one of the finest SCT telescopes available. The Americans were convinced so Synta moved the manufacture of other Celestron SCT telescopes in-house and have gone from strength to strength.

Excellent service from FLO, arrived safely, and bang on time. I've been considering making a jump from my Skywatcher 200p dob (which is great) to a different observing experience, and considered the type of scope for some time. I also committed myself to the SW EQ5 delux mount to give me some flexibility in future, which is solid. The scope has been out a few times for first light over the last week where the seeing was good, in reasonable dark sky, and I haven't been dissapointed atall. The views are very crisp indeed, and quite comparative to the dob at first use, however feel I haven't scratched the surface yet for what thecs ope is capable of. Moon in summer sunlight was a delight, and I split some doubles very nicely in the evening too. I'll add a further review once I've got some more experience. First impressions of both kit, excellent. I'm also gearing up for some astro photography in future, so can't wait to use the scope to full potential. Well worth the buy for now, and pretty sure of lots of good observing to come. Cheers FLO.
