About this product

Model:  optcrn_oregon_11x70_30156

The UK's BEST <£100 observation binocular and an excellent gift for someone interested in astronomy.

Unlike cheaper binoculars that are similar in appearance the Opticron Oregon 11x70 features fully multi-coated optics on all air-glass surfaces for maximum light transmission, clarity and contrast.

An excellent choice for long-range terrestrial observation and astronomy.

Long eye-relief eyepieces are suitable for observing with or without glasses.

Slim-line ZCF body style protected in natural rubber armour make the Oregons surprisingly easy to hand hold but they can also be attached quickly and easily to a tripod using a Binocular Tripod Mount (available separately) for more stable viewing.

Supplied in soft carry case with 5 year guarantee.

Opticron Oregon 15x70
02 November 2021  |

A good solid well put together binocular. They arrived well collimated which is paramount to using any binoculars. The image is clear, crisp and bright with a large field of view with the 70mm objectives. The focuser is smooth with just the right tension as is the diopter. All in all I’m pleased with my purchase

Opticron 15x70 binoculars

Very well packed and very quick delivery. Light weight for their size, the rubber lens caps are held onto the end by a rubber band which is a nice idea so you don’t loose them. Minor niggle the soft material case could be a bit bigger as the rubber lens caps make it a tight fit. Pleasing views of the moon when 3/4 full with no false colour but sky conditions weren’t too good with thin high altitude clouds. Next night clear skies and very good crisp clear views of open clusters and the Orion Nebula. Optics seem superb even viewing from a urban light polluted sky. Bought for variable star observing which these are ideal. Daytime use the view is equally good and i whole heartedly recommend these for astronomy or birdwatching. Eye relief very good even with glasses, eye caps are well designed as they cut out stray light of which there is a lot around my area. Very good for the price and one of the best I’ve owned in over 50 years

Not bad for the money
09 July 2018  |

Bought these as an alternative to pulling out the scope, the optics are ok but the overall finiish and build quality of the product is not that good. The feeling is not that of a quality set of binos but a cheap imitation of same. But for £50 they would suit a beginner looking to peruse the night sky for bino objects with a small budget.

1st binocular
29 January 2018  |

These are my 1st set of binoculars and were chosen after reading review after review and asking forums. They are superbly sharp in the centre of the image and not to bad at the edges , they do suffer light intrusion and it reflects back, nothing to serious specially at the price, I wish I had gone for the bigger magnification , but even so wide field astronomy is excellent , I’ve seen more with these than any of my scopes including the goto !
