NEW premium low-medium magnification eyepiece with an impressive 85° FOV. 

This new eyepiece from Pentax features an optical system with seven elements in five groups that surpasses their highly regarded XW series to deliver views that are sharp right to the edge of the field of view.

The high-performance optical design includes lanthanum glass elements with high refractive power and low dispersion to deliver a balanced image with minimal aberrations. The design effectively compensates for spherical aberration of the pupil so is specially good at reducing the annoying 'blackout' effect.

Pentax fully multi-coated optics for outstanding light transmission

All air-to-glass surfaces are treated with Pentax SMC multi-coating, while all laminated surfaces have an innovative partial coating to achieve light transmission of more than 90 percent (an astonishing 96 percent at 550nm) across the visible light spectrum.

Advanced light-shielding technology for improved image contrast

Thanks to Pentax' advanced computer simulation technology, these new XW eyepieces feature a light-shielding diaphragm in the most effective position to dramatically reduce internal reflections and provide a brighter, higher contrast image.

Weatherproof construction for all-weather viewing

Features JIS Class 4 equivalent weatherproof construction that enables use even in drizzle or night time dew.

The 2" nosepiece is threaded to accept 2" astronomy filters.
