Sky Watcher Evostar 120ED DS-Pro-Outfit
11 November 2020  |

This is a superb instrument which mounts perfectly onto my NEQ6 Pro mount . It is not too heavy and easy to balance the scope by moving the OTA within the tube rings . I am so pleased that the kit includes the star diagonal , 2in eyepiece and an 8 x 50 mm finderscope . The field flattner /reducer threads securely onto the drawtube , and the locking ring allows the M48 camera adaptor to be set to the correct position for the DSLR. The focuser is smooth and holds my 1200D DSLR at any elevation of the telescope . Due to current bad weather , I have only had a chance to take a few images of the moon . The results are impressive and the detail is clear and sharp . I am so looking forward to doing some guided deep sky astrophotography with the 50mm Evoguidescope

Decent scope and not to heavy

Hello I've had this scope for 6 months now, to be honest I quite like it it's pretty light weight at around 5 kg and the views of the moon are fantastic and clear even at high magnification, it never looks blurry or washed out which it sometimes did with my old celestron omni 120 xlt when using high power eyepieces. My only grumble and to be honest it's probably my imagination but when looking through my telescope the aperture seems smaller than my celestron omni 120. Impossible I know but just appears that way.

Wow, well done Skywatcher!
20 January 2018  |

I have had this telescope for a few months now. Initially I was not sure about buying it but I am glad I did ! my aim was to use this for visual observing and WOW the view is absolutely amazing I had an achromatic previously and there is a definite difference. The stars are razor sharp and the moon looks crazy on a clear night. I tried testing it to the limit by using a 2.5mm eye piece with a x2barlow to get 720X zoom and it held sharp on pole in the daytime. Well done sky watcher! My only criticism is that the finder scope image is inverted but the main tube image is the right way round and it would have been better if they are both the same to make manual observing easier, I have changed the finder for a baader sky surfer instead otherwise I would have given it five stars instead of four. The case is very solid and overall the whole unit with the case and everything it can be carried by one hand so I can get easily get it into the car on the back seats when taking it observing
