About this product

Model:  stellamira_2inch_0.6x_rff_m42
Part Number:  K0.6X-AU05

This useful 0.6x Reducer / Field Flattener enables DSLR astrophotography with most refractor telescopes f/6 or slower.

Suitable for use with camera sensor sizes up to Micro-4/3 and telescopes with f/7 or slower focal ratios.

It will also work well with telescope focal lengths narrowly outside this optimised f/range if using an astronomy camera with a smaller sensor.

Identical to our M48 model but features an integral M42 adapter.

Fully multi-coated optics fitted into a CNC machined body with a gloss black anodised finish.

Note: Not suitable for use with Sky-Watcher Evostar 72ED (telescope doesn't have enough inward focus travel).

FEATURES

  • 0.6x Reducer / Flattener.
  • Suitable for focal ratios around f/6 or slower.
  • High-quality, fully multi-coated optics.
  • Integrated M42 camera thread.
  • CNC machined body with hard, gloss, black anodised finish.
  • The 2" nosepiece is tapered for safety and accepts 2" astronomy filters.
  • Requires 55mm back focus

An interesting focal reducer
23 October 2022  |

I have used this focal reducer with my Evostar72ed an it does the reduction as its technical description says, but the flattener function it is not good at all. Well, at the end, in order to improve the coma effect, I have reduced the aperture of the scope through a home-made plastic diaphragm from 72 to 50-53mm. Note: I used a M42 to Canon thin EOS lens adapter to achieve the back focuse required.
