About this product

Model:  200heq5pro
Part Number:  10923/20886

200mm (8") f5 Parabolic Newtonian Reflector with HEQ5 PRO SynScan GOTO mount.

Parabolic Primary Mirror

All Sky-Watcher f/5 (‘fast’) Newtonian Reflectors and Dobsonian models feature high-quality parabolic primary mirrors to eliminate spherical aberrations inherent in ‘fast’ focal length reflector. The mirrors are parabolised to bring all the light rays to the same focal point to give sharp, contrasty images.

Ultra-Thin Secondary Mirror Supports

All Sky-Watcher f/5 Newtonian Reflectors feature 0.5mm ultra-thin secondary mirror supports to reduce diffraction spikes and loss of contrast.

Looks a great scope and still setting it up, on a learning curve at the moment and enjoying the challenge.

It's a solid choice

Nine months ago after doing a lot of research I decided to purchase this combination as everywhere I saw people commented that it was a good choice.

They were not wrong.

I've used mine as the workhorse for visual and astrophotography and one of the advantages to being an extremely popular mount and 'scope duo is there are so many expansion possibilities.

From going portable with the supplied syn scan hand controller to having computer controlled autoguiding and belt driven internals there are so many options to this setup.

Would highly recommend as it's light enough to use every time the night is clear yet heavy weight enough to be the backbone of some good astrophotography.
