I use this eyepiece for solar work with the ED80 scope, quark and herschel wedge and I have to agree with the other reviews here that it really punches above its weight. Yes, with its 31mm field stop there is a little vignetting with the quark, but this is not the fault of the eyepiece and despite this the view is better than with the rest of my eyepieces, some of which cost 10 times more. With the herschel wedge the views are stunning on a 100mm f10 refractor, with just the right magnification to get a full disk. The eyepiece is very comfortable to use and the eye cup that can be rotated upward is excellent in keeping out extraneous light (essential in solar!). If you are looking for an eyepiece to use in longer focal ratio arrangement for a give away price this will not disappoint! highly recommended!

I've used this EP for several years as it came as part of my SW80ED DS-PRO package.
Lovely, well built package and the twist up eye cup is smooth and very comfortable to use and blocks any stray light very well.
Works great in the 80ED, in my 180Mak and really good match for my 6" f/8 refractor.
I also own Hyperions and X-Cels and this EP holds it own against them.
Most EPs that ship with scopes in packages are usually fair to poor, this is the EP that bucks that trend.
Comparison with Meade 5000 Series

I tested this ep the other night on well moonlit evening, comparing it to a Meade 5000 Series 68 degree 28mm ep and have to say I could hardly tell the difference, the SW was that good, even the FoV compared well. I tested it in an f/9 refractor and do not know how it will perform in a fast reflector, but I suspect it will be good. In my view this ep punches well above its low price tag.
The other good feature about it is its twist-up eyecup, you twist in the middle and the whole body rises, just like the Meade and the Sky Watchers 1.25" underrated LET cousins.
In summary I would highly recommend this ep for any beginners who want to test the water with a 2" ep. Dead impressive!
