The HEQ5 Pro mount is considered by many to be Sky-Watcher's 'sweet spot'. A mount costing less than £1k with an impressive combination of ease-of-use, stability and tracking performance. It is probably the mount most recommended to someone wanting to begin astrophotography. 

The SynScan computerised handset's two-line illuminated LCD screen is easy to read and navigate. One-star, two-star and three-stars alignment routines are available and are easy to use. All work but three-star alignment is the 'gold standard' because it corrects for cone error. Once aligned, SynScan Go-To will automatically place objects in the eyepiece field-of-view wherever they are in the sky. Think Sat-Nav for astronomers! You can also control the mount from a laptop or desktop PC via the handset's RS-232 serial port (cable available separately) or, even easier, connect the mount directly using a Lynx Astro EQDIR adapter

Similar to Sky-Watcher's larger EQ6 Pro, the HEQ5’s counterweight shaft slides neatly into the body of the mount for easy storage and transportation. It also has a built-in polar alignment scope which makes it easier to align the polar axis of the mount to the Earth’s axis of rotation (whilst not strictly necessary for Go-To pointing accuracy, tracking is improved if the mount is polar-aligned). Looking through the polar scope you will see a graphic that enables you to offset quickly and easily from Polaris to the true north celestial pole.

Solid, sturdy and easy to use

I bought this to begin my astrophotography journey and have found the scope easy to use and very sturdy. Having mounted my 200p OTA on it as long as the wind is calm it copes well. With my SW80ds pro it is slick and tracks exceptionally well (subject to polar alignment) which living so far North is a neck contortionists job. Very pleased with this mount

Just got this mount a few days ago and I've only had it out the once. It looks good, feels good and works like a charm. My previous goto was a Meade ETX 90 system. There is simply no comparison. I did struggle with polar align but once I had done a two star align the mount tracked perfectly to M81. I left it tracking for a full 30 minutes and at the end of that test M81 was still smack in the middle of the eye-piece. Every object I told the mount to slew to it did perfectly. No minor adjustments were needed. No vibration was noticed even in a 20mph wind. I cannot pick a fault with this mount.

I'd like to thank FLO for advising me to get this mount. Best money I've ever spent.

... I have left it outside winter time in below zero temperatures, I have left it out in the rain by accident, I have mangled the RA adjustment screw. It still works like a charm and perform excellent for wide field astro photography and long exposures.

I use have used it for astro photography with a side by side mount, 90mm refractor, 60mm guide scope, web cam and dslr. With this weight. The mount is not the limiting factor for exposure time.

After 10 years of use, the synscan hand controller has had to many falls to the floor, and too many hours in sub zero. It is now starting to fail.

I can strongly recommend this product,

Should be called the super mount as it fits almost every Astronomer requirements I have used this mount with both EQMOD and the handset Both are spot on but I think the EQMOD just performs slightly better.
A word of warning the bolts and the screws are so tight that you may strip something so be warned !!
As to performance I have only tried The SW mount and it is well in the specs posted

Nobody ever complains that their mounts are too stable. Many people complain that their mounts wobble or don't track as well as they expect. Many (if not most) high end images that you see in astronomy magazines have been taken from a telescope mounted on an EQ6 - one of the best value and strongest mounts available to amateur astronomers (without spending silly money on super-high end mounting systems).

Well, this is not the EQ6, it's the HEQ5 and...

1. It's just like the EQ6.
2. It has the same pointing and tracking accuracy as the EQ6.
3. It's just smaller and lighter.

The legs on the HEQ5 are thinner and the mount carries about half as much. It's enough for a big Newtonian for a visual observer or right at it's limit, an 8" Newtonian with a 3" guide scope, plus a camera.

Whilst the EQ6 carries more, it is very heavy. The HEQ5 is much lighter so, in my opinion, it works out the better deal for those of us who have to carry it outdoors and set up before use and pack away at the end.

It's easy to use, has an illuminated polar scope, and does everything the higher end mounts do for less money and less weight.

The only downside is that it cannot carry the heaviest payloads for imaging, but I suspect that for most people it is just fine. (More than fine, it's bloomin' brilliant!)
