I got this instead of the discontinued iOptron one for my SkyGuider Pro. Itís perfect for me, very solid and I managed guiding within ~0.8Ē rms so couldnít ask for more really. Some reviews mention the weight as a drawback but, for me, it weighs as it looks and, unless youíre wanting to hike through the woods with it, it shouldnít put you off. Certainly my SkyGuider Pro, WO base wedge, camera and lens/scope weigh much more.

Absolutely great bit of kit. Makes my Manfrotto look like 3 matchsticks. Solid base for WO wedge and a star adventurer. Great service from FLO.

The tripod while heavy duty, it is perfect for the skywatcher adventurer. While unable to test it outside under the stars, it will be a great addition to my equipment. The staff at FLO were terrific in keeping me advised of developments of the transportation of the item. There have also help in relation to other small items which was great. Keep up the good work.

Upgraded from the aluminium tripod for the star adventurer pro. What a difference. This tripod is so much sturdier than the cheaper one and it makes me feel more confident that my doublet refractor and DSLR camera are safe to leave on the star adventurer. Goes without saying that there is hardly any vibration in comparison to when I was using the aluminium tripod which made accurate polar alignment and centering the eyepiece much harder. As always a first class delivery from FLO, item well packaged and arrived dead on schedule.

Great tripod. Bought it for my Heritage Virtuoso mount, fits like a glove.
The Staff from FLO is just great. Thumbs up.

Very sturdy and stable tripod

Bought to hold an az gti / star adventurer and SW 72ED / 130PDS scopes. Tripod is solid with very little vibration if touched whilst viewing through scope (about a second and wobbling has gone). Even though itís solid itís not too heavy to move. Spend the extra £60 over the cheaper skywatcher tripod - you wonít be disappointed. Buy the extension pier for £20 so your scope wonít hit the legs when pointing up.

As usual first class service from FLO, quick delivery and well packaged. Now looking to get an EQ5 goto from them

Good solid tripod.

I bought this tripod to take a SkyWatcher AZ5 hand driven altazimuth mount, extension tube and 60 mm refractor. Previously I had been using the much lighter tripod that comes with a SkyWatcher Star Adventurer which was somewhat shaky when driving the altazimuth mount and focussing the refractor at x72 magnification. This tripod is very stable with very little shake on driving and focussing. Although significantly heavier than the Star Adventurer tripod the whole setup is still light enough that I can pick it up carry it outside and be viewing the sky in 5 or 10 minutes. Overall it's a good solid tripod, well worth the investment. Now I'm thinking of getting a bigger refractor.

General purpose tripod

I made a fork mount for my 20/40 x 100 binoculars which have a combined (bins and fork) weight of 17 kg. This tripod handles the weight well and is very stable. Can recommend as a strong general purpose mount for DIY usage
