I will admit I took a fairly expensive gamble on the VVP but it has paid off. I am hugely impressed with what it can do and how easy it is to use. It is small, lightweight and takes 5 mins to set up but produces great images, much, much better quality than I expected. I will still use my old reflector for visual but I suspect the Vaonis will come out more often. In short, I’m a happy customer.

Over the years, I have supported Vaonis Stellina and Vespera because they produce such compact all-in-one astrophotographic complete units that can easily be transported.. The PRO is my third Vespera as I have been attracted by the steady improvement in sensor size from the a start of 2mp to the 12.5mp of the current PRO. I still use my first one and the mid-term "Passenger" but even my limited use of the recent PRO (due weather) has shown that the larger 12.5 is well worth considering even if you have an earlier model. I know that the purists turn up their noses at such simplicity but the Vaonis approach does it for me. The Vespera will produce enough detail for 4 ft by 3 ft canvases. I have several hanging up at home from the earlier models so this PRO will ace it. I thoroughly recommend this approach to astrophotography in general with Vespera in particular.
