Which MicroFocuser fits my telescope?
If your telescope is less than a few years old, check the style of the back cell to see which version of the Feather-Touch SCT Micro Focuser you need. If your telescope has a flat back (left picture), you need the standard 'C' MicroFocuser. If your telescope has a triangular pattern on the back (right picture), you will need the 'CPC' MicroFocuser.

The microfoucuser is well engineed and high quality. A lot of money but far superior to the original that does let the scope down. Great quick service and a good price.
Save up your money and purchase one, you won't be disappointed.

I fitted this to my new SCT9.25 as previous experience with the standard focusers fitted by Celestron to their SCT left me wanting a better solution.
Very easy to fit, clear instructions plus a video on the CD provided. It took me about 20 minutes in all.
The construction is pure quality and the difference in feel when focusing is so much better and accurate.

I decided to replace the focus knob on my new C9.25 and with some trepidation followed the instructions. It was easy, and took only a few minutes. The one thing to watch is the black sticky lube the telescope has on the original focuser - have some kitchen towel to hand when you're making the swap, but otherwise all nice and simple.
The new focuser works like a dream, and oozes quality. If I worked at Celestron, I would be fitting these as standard, the telescope deserves a quality focuser, and this fills that gap with ease.
I have the equatorial (vixen style) mount version of the C9.25, but it is new (2013) and that has the "triangular back" and needs the CPC version of the focuser rather than the C version.

Q1. Will the SCT Microfocuser affect my back focus in any way?
No, the microfocuser replaces the existing focuser mechanism and gives you a finer focusing option. It does not affect the back focus.
