16" F/8 M-LRC Truss Ritchey-Chrétien

An excellent choice for imaging smaller galaxies and nebulae targets. 

The RC optical design delivers images free of coma, spherical and chromatic aberrations, so is an excellent choice for colour or monochrome imaging.

Open-framed, carbon fibre truss design for incredible stability, quick thermal equalisation and lightweight transportation (not to mention it looks fantastic!).

A fixed-position primary mirror eliminates the image shift often experienced when focusing some other telescope designs.

It also features a sturdy dual-speed 3.25" linear bearing focuser.

Three CNC-machined spacer rings are included that provide flex-free focus extension when required.

Interior knife edge baffles reduce stray light for maximum contrast.

It is fitted with a Losmandy-style dovetail mounting plate on the base and a handy Losmandy-style dovetail mounting plate on top for piggy-backing over accessories.

The Hyperbolic primary and secondary mirrors are made from low thermal expansion Quartz.

The Carbon Fibre Truss ensures a rigid but lightweight structure free of differential flexure whilst minimising thermal focus shift.
